About WDG

The mission of World Development Group, Inc., a Massachusetts corporation founded in 1995 with extensive international experience in the area of strategic planning and development, is to reduce global poverty and improve the quality of healthcare in emerging markets.

Over the last 12 years WDG has provided strategic consulting services to various governments across three continents. The World Development Group poverty reduction initiative is achieved by enabling governments to restructure debt providing a "risk management" mechanism to companies and potential investors seeking to gain access to emerging markets. The implementation of this proprietary model will assist highly indebted poor countries (HIPCs) improve core infrastructure capacity (e.g., electricity, transportation, and telecommunication) by stimulating foreign direct investment by means of issuance of cash guarantees. Direct foreign investment in core infrastructure leads to additional investment within the local economy stimulating additional and substantial improvement in public health, education, and other essential purpose needs. The second focus of WDG is to improve the quality of healthcare in these developing markets. The company is undertaking the construction and operation of Intravenous Solution manufacturing facilities in emerging markets.

The acquisition of SBT Technology of Medway, Massachusetts, with nearly twenty years of experience in design, planning, construction, training, staffing and management of IV solution manufacturing facilities, diagnostic imaging facilities and medical clinics, positions WDG as a leader in the field of medical technology in emerging markets. SBT Technology provides WDG with the capacity to construct Intravenous Production Centers (IVPCs) in the developing world. IVPCs are complete manufacturing facilities for the production of solutions for parenteral (intravenous or intramuscular administration) medical requirements. The facilities produce IV solutions from local water sources using blow/fill/seal (BFS) aseptic packaging, eliminating the ordering, shipping, storing, handling, cleaning and sterilization of pre-made containers. With its design incorporating a unique single-operation BFS machine, the facility exceeds U.S. and international quality standards. WDG and SBT can now provide emerging markets with an indigenous capacity to produce the basic components for their own high quality medical care (alleviating the costs associated with shipping and inventory maintenance), as well as high-valued products for export.
